Former Roanoke Times Human Resources Employee Sues for Title VII Harassment and Retaliation

CBS affiliate WDBJ7 featured a story on Lucas v. BH Media Group and Lee Enterprises in which former employee Candace Lucas alleges she was terminated for complaining of a sexually harassing editor. Despite being told by her supervisor that she handled the situation appropriately, Ms. Lucas said in her complaint that she was terminated roughly one week later after someone raised concerns about her relationship with an employee of The Roanoke Times' news department. Ms. Lucas said in her complaint that upper management of the newspaper had been aware of the relationship for nearly a year and no previous issues had been raised.
