Roanoke County Supervisor Sues School Board Members

On November 20, 2023, the Roanoke Times reported on Hooker v. Facciani et al., in which Roanoke County Board of Supervisors Member Martha Hooker sued three members of the Roanoke County School Board for First Amendment retaliation in federal court. The case focuses on Ms. Hooker's wrongful termination from Roanoke County Schools after having engaged in protected speech on matters of public concern.
