Former Law Professor Claims Botched Title IX Investigation

As published in three separate articles, (Virginia Lawyers Weekly, www.law.com, www.abovethelaw.com) Virginia Employment Law is representing a former law professor suing the Appalachian School of Law in federal court for violations of Title IX and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Allegations include disparate treatment, discrimination, retaliation, and working in a hostile work environment. As Tommy explained to www.law.com, “Title IX has specific, black-and-white things schools must do, and as indicated in our complaint, [Appalachian] didn’t do them,” Strelka said. “Title IX is mandatory. If you take those federal dollars, you’ve got to do these things.” The Virginia Lawyers Weekly article may be read HERE. The www.law.com article may be read HERE.
